Michael Quirk, LPC, MT-BC
Michael is a dedicated and compassionate licensed professional counselor (LPC) and board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) with extensive training in various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR. He earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Music Therapy from the State University of New York at New Paltz, where he developed a deep understanding of the therapeutic power of music.
With experience as both a family therapist and a music therapist, Michael finds immense joy in hearing clients' stories and witnessing those transformative "aha moments" when they connect their past experiences to their present lives. He is passionate about providing therapy to a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, college students, adults, and seniors.
Michael employs an integrative approach in his practice, utilizing techniques from EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Bibliotherapy, and Existential Therapy. His goal is to empower clients to explore their emotions, navigate challenges, and foster personal growth.
Originally from New York, Michael is also a proud father of three boys, which enriches his understanding of family dynamics and the unique challenges faced at different life stages. His warmth and insight create a safe space for clients to embark on their therapeutic journeys.
