Dorothy (Dottie) Marek, LCSW

Dottie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 with a Masters Degree in Social Work and a certificate in mental health. Dottie has worked in behavioral health with children, adolescents, and families in a school based setting for over 30 years focused on behavioral and emotional support.

She has worked for several years with children with autism spectrum disorder in facilitating social groups and individual sessions. Dottie utilizes therapeutic play and art techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Anger Management techniques for youth, as well as Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. Dottie enjoys using children's therapeutic books and other creative therapies in her sessions.

She is compassionate and caring, and provides a comfortable space to process trauma and life stressors. She is passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults with life transitions, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma. She has worked with LGBTQIA youth in the school setting and as a therapist.
